Some judges are fucking nuts.

That’s the plain and simple of it. 

I am freakin’ LIVID about this case. Reposting the article from Feministing, this story looks like a blatant case of judicial overreaching and abuse of power. If the Georgia Supreme Court does not hear this case, a gross miscarriage of justice will have occurred and I am going to freak out. 

Woman appeals sex assault case to state Supreme Court:

Melanie Ross thought Daniel Day, her college classmate, was fun and a decent date – until they were having sex and she told him he was hurting her. She asked him to stop – and he didn’t. After that, Ross broke up with Day, and avoided him.

Unfortunately, that didn’t stop Day from raping her a month later.

We’ve made it past the first vote (if you remember my blog about it last month) and the results weren’t so positive. Now we’re gearing up for round two in the Senate on the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which would have a major impact on the lives of women who’ve been subject to pay discrimination. Today, women in this country are still paid only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men! WHAT? And we still have to pay the same gas prices?! Nutso!

With 57 Senators voting in our favor, we are now just 3 votes away from moving the bill forward. Women everywhere need your help to make fair pay a reality.

The National Women’s Law Center is reaching out to Senators in key states who voted the wrong way the first time around. If you live in one of the following states, at least one of your Senators voted against the bill: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, Florida, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. Please e-mail that Senator now.

Of course, Barack has his days when he’s not such a good guy. Michelle told us he snores, doesn’t pick up his socks and isn’t so good at putting the tie back on the bread. In all fairness, there’s one for Hillary too (as well as other folks like Steve Jobs, John McCain and Ron Paul). However, it’s harder to believe that she would be the last one to leave my house party. Especially because she wouldn’t be invited to begin with. Party crasher.
